I watched The Eagle (Kevin Macdonald, 2011). It’s a Cavalry and Indian flick. Those pesky injuns have a trophy that they got off this dude’s father, so he goes to get it back. Along the way, he finds some of the old cavalry guys, and they show those redskins who are the better fighters. It was odd that the redskins had painted their faces blue, tho they did have the right hairstyles. And the cavalry were dressed in Roman gear for some reason. Apart from the strange wardrobe decisions, it’s a good old-fashioned American movie with good old-fashioned American values: do whatever it takes, when you’re invading someone else’s territory, to get what it is you want. And slavery is good too, tho you sometimes free one if he’s a really really good slave.
In Roman-ruled Britain, a young Roman soldier endeavors to honor his father's memory by finding his lost legion's golden emblem.
