Tomorrow when the War Began (Stuart Beattie, 2010) based on the novel by John Marsden; Caitlin Stasey, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Lincoln Lewis; action adventure war
There wasn’t much for me to like in the teenage fantasy Tomorrow when the War Began, this writer-now-director’s first film. I’m not sure whether incredible, implausible or unbelievable is the right word, so I’ll use them all. I didn’t like anything he wrote either, especially Australia (Baz Luhrmann, 2008).
Louise Keller:
A mix of a teen movie, fantasy adventure and action thriller, this is an impressive debut for Beattie, offering a natural opportunity for a sequel. Louise Keller, urbancinefile.
