Blithe Spirit (Edward Hall, 2020) wr. various from play by Noël Coward; Dan Stevens, Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, Judi Dench, Michele Dotrice, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Emilia Fox
I liked this, but I've never seen it on stage.
Sheila O'Malley did not like it:
Coward once said:
"Consider the public. Never fear it nor despise it. Coax it, charm it, interest it, stimulate it, shock it now and then if you must, make it laugh, make it cry, but above all never, never, never bore the living hell out of it."
It's good advice, advice this new adaptation did not heed. Roger Ebert.
