The Bourne Ultimatum (Paul Greengrass, 2007)
Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, David Strathairn
Jason Bourne dodges a ruthless CIA official and his agents from a new assassination program while searching for the origins of his life as a trained killer.
Not Bourne Again … at least not with Matt Damon, who will only do it if great action director Paul Greengrass masks this actor’s inability to think or emote. So The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) may be that in more senses than one. Very entertaining film – tho I hope the premise bears no resemblance to what the CIA is really like. And an open ending – so the franchise may extend to The Bourne Farewell.
Update: since I wrote that in about 2012, there have been two more: The Bourne Legacy (Tony Gilroy, 2012 - with neither Greengrass nor Damon) and Jason Bourne (Paul Greengrass, 2016 - and Damon is back too).
