Fargo (Joel Coen [& Ethan Coen], 1996) dp Roger Deakins; Frances McDormand, William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare, Kristin Rudrüd, Harve Presnell
Jerry Lundegaard's inept crime falls apart due to his and his henchmen's bungling and the persistent police work of the quite pregnant Marge Gunderson.
This is the Coen film I enjoy most, perhaps just because Marge, Frances McDormand's character, is so (morally) good and Peter Stormare's character is so bad. (McDormand met Joel Coen while making Blood Simple [1984] as a result of which they married.)
