The Fortune Cookie (Billy Wilder, 1966)
A crooked lawyer persuades his brother-in-law to feign a serious injury.
Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Ron Rich, Judi West
I didn’t enjoy this even tho I was seeing it for the first time. I think what I.A.L. Diamond and Billy Wilder created has been so absorbed into the mainstream of American comedy that it seemed hackneyed while it is new at the same time.
Judi West turns in one of the worst performances ever seen in a major HW film: who was she screwing to get the gig?
