The Hospital

The Hospital (Arthur Hiller, 1971) wr. Paddy Chayefsky; George C. Scott, Diana Rigg, Barnard Hughes

An over-burdened doctor struggles to find meaning in his life while a murderer stalks the halls of his hospital.

I watched Paddy Chayefsky’s The Hospital (Arthur Hiller, 1971) last night. What a great film! Something for everyone, and a bit of everything. I’m realising, as I think back on it, how funny it was (as well as all else) – the humour was more subtle than with a typical Hollywood film. Why have I never seen Network?
