The Martian

The Martian (Ridley Scott, 2015)

This is a science-y film which apparently gets some of the science wrong - tho prolly not the idea that you can grow potatoes using your own excrement as fertiliser. That is the highlight of this rather tedious film, in which Matt Damon is a bit too bright-and-breezy for someone trapped in planetary isolation.

Is there a 'Robinson Crusoe' genre? I'm thinking, as well as this one, of films like Moon (Duncan Jones, 2009) and Cast Away (Robert Zemeckis, 2000): there must be lots more.
