Notes on a Scandal

Notes on a Scandal (Richard Eyre, 2006)

A veteran high school teacher befriends a younger art teacher, who is having an affair with one of her 15-year-old students. However, her intentions with this new friend' also go well beyond platonic friendship.

Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett

There are no actresses I would rate more highly than these two, but the film was of little interest. The script seemed to me to be an exercise in 'relevance' on the part of the writers. And the actresses seemed to me to walk through parts they weren't engaged in. They're not bad - they're incapable of poor acting - but they're just not great, which is the norm for them.
