Paper Moon

Paper Moon (Peter Bogdanovich, 1973) Ryan O'Neal, Tatum O'Neal, Madeline Kahn

During the Great Depression, a conman finds himself saddled with a young girl who may or may not be his daughter, and the two forge an unlikely partnership.

I've only just seen this (in 2020), and it has reawakened my interest in the career of Peter Bogdanovich (q.v.)

I'm delighted to find this to be a charming film, which could only have been better if it had starred Paul Newman - which was a possibility at the time. Tatum O'Neal won an Oscar for it, aged 10 - and deserved it.
