Unstoppable

Unstoppable (Tony Scott, 2010)

Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson

With an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe.

Perhaps appropriately, Tony Scott’s last film finished early – also in the sense that it lasted less than 90 minutes (whereas usually his films go much longer, up to nearly three hours). It’s a routine ‘can the hero do X in time’ film. I was reminded of Speed (1994) more than anything else – tho there are many other stories that precede this one.
