Irrational Man (Woody Allen, 2015)

Jamie Blackley, Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey, Emma Stone; crime mystery

A tormented philosophy professor finds the will to live when he commits an existential act.

Yet another older man (Joaquin Phoenix) gets the girl (Emma Stone) tho she has a perfectly good alternative in a boy her own age. It's exactly the same situation as in Allen's next film Cafe Society (2016). The difference is that this girl doesn't finish up with the older guy. In a much more radical version of poetic justice than the later film, in this one he actually falls to his very-well-deserved death. Woody Allen has been trying to deal with the older guy thing in many films. One might have thought he had put him to psychological death in this one - but no, he's going to reappear in two out of the next three!

Everyone acts very nicely.
